Beautiful Candles with Sustainable Values: St. Eval Win ‘Most Sustainable Organisation’ at the 2022 Cornwall Sustainability Awards

The Cornwall Sustainability Awards is hosted by Cornwall Council and business support enterprise Tevi and celebrates enterprises in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly for their contribution towards sustainability, environmental growth, the circular economy and carbon neutrality.

St. Eval won the ‘Most Sustainable Organisation’ award which is a new category for 2022 aimed at celebrating businesses that are achieving excellence in all areas of sustainability not just focused on one. The company last won at the Cornwall Sustainability Awards in 2015, for ‘Best Managed Medium Business’ and has since excelled with numerous sustainability-focused initiatives.

Other winners were Hillside Farm for Growing Greener: Sustainable Food and Farming; Cabilla for Environmental Growth, Wadebridge Renewable Energy Network (WREN) for Carbon Neutral and Finisterre who won Circular Economy and also Overall Winner.

Creating an environment that enriches people’s lives and treading softly on the earth is the St. Eval vision which began over 28 years ago. These values remain at the very heart of their inspiration for creating beautiful candles, home fragrances and natural body care.

Initiatives such as eliminating single-use plastic, renewable energy expansion and a roadmap to net zero led St. Eval’s excellence in sustainability to be recognised with a 2021 Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Sustainable Development and recently becoming a certified B Corporation. These awards, alongside their 2022 Cornwall Sustainability Award, emphasise the company’s commitment to building a sustainable business model and using business as a force for good.
